WENATCHEE - Cancer Care of NCW (CCNCW) is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a generous donation from the Confluence Health & Wenatchee Valley Medical Group Community Partnership Grant 2024 program. The grant was awarded for CCNCW's proposal: Strengthening our Social Services Assistance for Regional Cancer Patients.
Each year, Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group (WVMG) award up to $500,000 annually to 501(c)3 non-profit organizations in Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties. According to their website, grant proposals must "focus on health and wellness, education and arts and culture." They must also promote education, particularly in math and science, and provide a significant and positive economic impact to the community. Grants typically range between $1,000 - $15,000.
The Partnership Grant has been one of the annual mainstays in funding the Social Services Assistance Program at CCNCW. All distributions from Social Services go to patients in need who are being treated for cancer. This applies to anyone in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan and Grant counties. The bulk of these distributions are made through gift cards for food and gas, cancer-related medications, medical supplies and lodging for those receiving treatment who are not able to stay at CCNCW's Our House facility. Social Services has also helped guests and others in our community with personal expenses on an individual basis.Â
